"I just took up long distance running in the last year or so...
I remembered from past years that there was a half marathon on the Ronald Reagan Parkway but that it had not been held for a couple of years.  I was very excited to see that it had been brought back.  I drive this road daily and it only seemed fitting to run it. The race was very well organized with lots of activities for participants and spectators alike.  The race had a real community feel and the volunteers and sponsors were helpful and friendly.  In addition it helped to raise money for a worthy cause.  For all of the above reasons I hope that the county commissioners and DOT will allow this race to be held year after year. My family and I will look forward to this race every year."

I came along for moral support, and I am really glad I did.  I loved all the bouncy things for the kids to play on (as did my son), and I loved the free food samples from Smoothie, Brusters, Starbucks, etc.  The atmosphere was fun and friendly, and the kids seemed really motivated to run their 1 mile race.   And that is what this is really all about, getting kids excited to run, and getting families exercising together.  I think that the Run the Reagan race is a great opportunity to do exactly that."

Everything was top-notch and the course was a good mix of flats and hills. The RRP is a great surface to run on. My sincere hope would be that this race would continue in the future. "I fought the urge to stay in bed even though it was supposed to be raining and only 44 degrees...
Boy, am I glad I came out!  I ran the half marathon on Saturday and had a great time! The race was extremely well organized, great instructions to get there and park, easy registration and packet pickup, and wonderful volunteers!  I finished 4th from the last, but the volunteers were still there, cheering us on as though we were front-runners! The course was so clean, and everyone so friendly. And, imagine my surprise when I crossed the finish line and got a FANTASTIC medal, too!  The medal is first class – very heavy with a nice ribbon.  I didn’t stay for the party (it just started raining when we crossed the finish – what luck!), but there were lots of fun things for the whole family, from what I could see.  Would have been nice if there had been some oranges/bananas at the turnaround, but hey, who’s complaining!  The water and Power Aid at all the stops was really nice. You guys did a great job – thanks!!"
